Journey

Respite as a Gentle Transition.

For those considering a permanent move, we use respite as a "bridge." This approach allows prospective residents to settle in at their own pace, reducing the stress often associated with moving into a new home.

Questions

Everything you need to know about respite care at Henderson Home

Can we visit first?

Yes. Our doors are open whenever you wish to call. We believe families should feel entirely comfortable with where their loved one will stay, so visit us at any time that suits you best.

Why two nights initially?

A two-night weekday stay allows our Managers to be present throughout, providing the highest level of support. This ensures a positive introduction and builds confidence from the start.

Must they attend viewings?

That choice belongs entirely to you. Some families prefer to visit alone first, whilst others bring their loved one along. We welcome both approaches without question.

Does respite lead to permanent care?

Many families discover that respite care is the ideal pathway to permanent residency. The environment becomes familiar, the fear diminishes, and the transition feels natural.
